Note : In the 1881 UK Census there is a William Turner Grand Son of Richard Darwen (shown below) of Lathom and Alice Darwen. I also have details of a Marriage for a Richard Darwen in the district of Chorley 1854 Jan Vol 8e pg 475. They lived at Car House Lane, Wrightington. William's age was given as 6yrs, which matches the dob for our Wm below. I have the Marriage Cert for Wm & Ann there is no mention of Wm's Father which is unusual.

Have searched from 1848 - 1858 inclusive with only one reference to Richard Darwen found in the Marriage register. I have assumed he was born 1833 assuming their first child was Annie as per 1881 Census born no later than 1858. More than likely had an earlier daughter who married a Turner parents of William.
